Visual Exhibition Tour
In his first visual tour, Hanspeter Münch takes us on a journey through his exhibition “Lebensraum Farbe” in the Museum Schloss Ettlingen.
WatchAboutHanspeter Münch
In his works, Hanspeter Münch creates space using color. These color spaces are not bound to represent any shape, rather, the color itself forms the content of the paintings. His painting process is both spontaneous and reflected as he looks at a long career of living a life dedicated to color. He applies them in up to 60 layers, thus organically growing a space for them to come together in a striking myriad of combinations.
Münch structures color and senses every nuance. He lets them grow, intertwine, melt together, all defined anew in unpredictable structures. These dynamics elevate the color spaces to a deeply layered yet accessible visual experience.
Through his use of the most ancient tool of painting, color, Münch manages to create space. Movement and seemingly physical volume let light seep through the lighter parts of each painting.
These many processes have been perfected to show the viewer a level that is engaging at once but also lasting in its eye for detail.
